Contact Lenses
Over 30 million Americans wear contact lenses, according to The American Academy of Ophthalmology. Unlike glasses, contact lenses move with your eyes so you can enjoy a larger field of vision with fewer distortions. You also don’t have to deal with frames hovering in your peripheral vision or external lenses that fog up on cold days or get wet in the rain.
We fit daily wear disposable contact lenses which are worn once and then disposed of at the end of the day. The majority of our patients wear two week disposable lenses, which are worn daily for two to three weeks and then disposed of. They are inserted in the morning, removed at night and placed in a case with a cleaning, wetting solution. The next day they are removed from their case, rinsed, and reinserted for wear that day. We can also provide contact lenses that last for one month, three months and upwards of one year.
Even if you have significant astigmatism, our doctors are able to fit the right lens for you. Drs. Kalt and Katz have been very successful fitting monovision contact lenses, which allow the patient to wear one contact lens for distance and the other lens for near vision to avoid the need for reading glasses completely.
